Purify Your Negative Karma Retreat

Weekend Retreat at the Centre

Purify Your Negative Karma
A Weekend Retreat in the City
with Gen Kelsang Zopa

Friday – Sunday, January 13-15, 2017
7pm Friday – 12:30pm Sunday
Bodhichitta Kadampa Buddhist Centre
970 Blanshard St, Victoria, BC

To understand how our own negative actions have caused our present difficulties and unhappiness, we need to understand actions and their effects, the law of karma. Buddha taught that our thoughts and actions leave imprints that remain on our mind and that these imprints are the principal causes for our experiences. Through purifying our negativity, our mind will gradually become happier, our good qualities will increase, and all our mental and physical problems will gradually disappear.

The benefits of a retreat from our daily activities are well known, but perhaps you don’t have the time or budget for a week long retreat or a weekend away. Perhaps you are simply ready for a brief respite from your daily life. This weekend retreat in the city is designed to allow you to easily and economically access the benefits of retreat.

Join us and learn how to engage in simple purification using the four opponent powers. Through this practice we can remove the inner basis for problems and obstacles and experience a profound inner peace and happiness.

This retreat will include instruction (teachings), guided meditations, and chanted prayers.
