“Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible. We all wish for world peace, but world peace will never be achieved unless we first establish peace within our own minds. Only by creating peace within our own mind and helping others to do the same can we hope to achieve peace in this world.” Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Transform Your Life

By learning to cherish others we can experience greater peace of mind and help to establish world peace in general. Through contemplating these prayers compiled by Geshe Kelsang from traditional sources, we learn to cherish others.

All are welcome. The session includes a short teaching, chanted prayers for world peace and a short meditation. There is no charge for this event. (Donations are welcomed.)

Powa Practice

a 45 minutes practice for the recently deceased
Jan 21, Feb 18, May 20 and June 17 at 9:30 am
Also April 1 at 10:00 am

Transference of consciousness or ‘Powa’ in Tibetan, is a practice for transferring consciousness to a Pure Land. We understand that throughout this world countless human beings and animals die every day from so many different causes. If these living beings have the opportunity to take rebirth in a Buddha’s Pure Land, they will attain permanent liberation from suffering and experience pure and everlasting happiness.

Our practice of this powa offers them this precious opportunity, we ourselves will create a great collection of virtue, which will also lead us into the pathway to the Pure Land of a Buddha

All are welcome. There is no charge for this event. You are welcome to bring a small white coloured offering (food item, flowers, etc), but that is totally optional. If someone you know personally has recently passed away you are also invited to bring a small picture and you will be able to say a few words.
