It is empowering to realize that we all having a loving “Buddha seed” at our heart. Using the wise advice Buddha shared in his teachings, each one of us can access this potentiality, water it with love and compassion and reap the happiness of permanent peace. We can become a loving presence in our world.

During this half-day course you will learn the scientific method to awaken your Buddha nature within.

This class is open to everyone and requires no previous experience. It is not required to sit on a cushion – both chairs and cushions will be provided.

Cost: $20 advance purchase. $25 at the door.

Bike Parking Information: There are 4 bike racks in the adjoining plaza area (near the library entrance) and 2 bike racks on the first garage level near the ticket booths (walk your bike down the garage ramp.)

We are near 2 City Parking Garages and the City On Street Parking rates are shown on the map below. Both are free after 6 pm and on Sundays. The first hour in the Parking Garages are free. Free on street parking is available for 1-2 hours on most of the unmarked streets (You only have to walk a couple of blocks). There are also Robbins and City run surface lots nearby with posted costs.

Kelsang Tsalden is a Buddhist nun and a member of the Teacher Training Program. She is responsible for our newsletter and our fundraising. She has taught in many venues, including our Wednesday morning and Saturday morning courses at the Center and she has been the branch teacher Duncan, Langford and James Bay.

Tsalden draws from both her meditation experiences and her life experiences to make her teachings clear and meaningful.

Do I have to be a Buddhist to attend?
No. All are welcome. Buddhists respect all people and are happy to help anyone regardless of whether they subscribe to another faith, or to none.

Do I need to have experience in meditation or Buddhism to attend this day course?
No. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life. The practice you will be learning will allow you to use the power of your imagination to bring healing to yourself and the world.

What do I need to bring to class?
Nothing in particular; however, if you wish to take notes bring a pen and notepad.

How should I dress for class?
No special clothing is required. We recommend wearing something comfortable.

Is food included?
Light snacks will be provided at the first break. Lunch is not included. There are several restaurants in the neighbourhood you can walk to when the class is finished.

I don’t have a credit card or I am not ready to commit, can I pay at the door?
Yes. The cost will be $25. Cash is best for at the door, thank you.
