Training in Happiness:
7 Week Introduction to Buddha’s Wisdom
A series of classes, held on 7 consecutive Saturdays at 10 am, specifically for beginners
Saturday, October 7, 10am-12pm
Saturdays, October 14 – November 18, 10am-11am
Bodhichitta Kadampa Buddhist Centre
970 Blanshard Street, Victoria BC
Perhaps we wish to learn how to meditate or to strengthen our meditation practice; perhaps we wish to find out more about Buddhism. But, where do we start? There are many good books about meditation and Buddhism, but training our mind through meditation requires guidance from qualified instructors and the support of fellow practitioners.
This 7-week series is specifically targeted for beginners, but would also benefit those wishing to rejuvenate their practice by receiving guidance and support from a teacher.
The series will begin with a special 2-hour introductory class covering the basics of meditation. Meditation is a powerful and creative tool for changing our experience of our self, others and our world. A regular meditation practice has many benefits:
- Helps reduce stress
- Overcomes anxiety and worry
- Brings inner calm and a feeling of well-being
- Gives clarity to solve our problems
- Helps us deal with challenging people and situations
After the two-hour introductory class, the series will continue with 6 one-hour classes covering the basic teachings from Buddha’s wisdom. These classes will offer new tools for understanding your own mind and dealing with stress, anxiety, and other problems. Each class will include a guided meditation related to the teachings. The class experience is designed to allow you to unwind and return home relaxed and refreshed.
You may enjoy these classes as a series or as stand-alone classes. You are welcome to attend all seven, just one class or even to start part way through.
Everyone Welcome !!
