Blessing Empowerment of Buddha Maitreya
Sunday November 12, 2017
Bodhichitta Kadampa Buddhist Centre
970 Blanshard Steet, Victoria BC
Join us for this very special day of blessings and inspiration!
An empowerment is a special ritual in which we receive the blessings of an enlightened being and make a special connection with them. Buddha Maitreya is the Buddha of loving kindness, as well as the next Buddha to appear in this world age. He is known as the Protector of the hundreds of Deities of the Joyful Land, which is also named Tushita Pure Land. He has a golden-coloured body, a stupa at his crown, and two hands in the mudra of turning the Wheel of Dharma.
During this special event, we will draw closer to Buddha Maitreya and awaken our own potential to develop the universal love of a Buddha. Maitreya’s inspiring blessings will help us improve our ability to care for and love others, which is the source of all our happiness and the best protection from problems and pain. We will also receive teachings on developing loving kindness, instructions on the practice of Maitreya and commentary to the prayers, The Yoga of Buddha Maitreya.
Eventually, through continued practice and continual receiving of these blessings, we will come to know the most peaceful love, the love that wishes for everyone to attain the complete and lasting happiness of enlightenment.
Everyone is welcome!
$40 cash, cheque or credit card at the door. We will open the doors for entry when the Empowerment preparations are complete. We anticipate this to be approximately 9:00am. Please queue up quietly until the doors can be opened. Please try to arrive no later than 9:20am to allow time to process you in and begin on time. Thank you.
